About MLI:

Medical Legal Informatix, Inc. (MLI) was founded more than a decade ago as a specialty software developer for the Legal Profession. Our first offering, Legal Medical Search (LMS)©, a proprietary search-program and data-base system was designed to allow attorneys to search the medical literature, off-line, for bibliographic references specific to a particular case. The specificity of MLI searches derive from the experience of its founder, a former IME (Independent Medical Examiner) and QME (Qualified Medical Examiner), for the California DIR (Department of Industrial Relations), assisting Workers Compensation Board Judges in resolving conflicting claims in the reports of plaintiff and defense. Perhaps this may seem familiar to you:

Medical legal evaluation obtained by the plaintiff/applicant
concludes: the patient died as a result of the referenced
motor vehicle collision and ensuing fire. That obtained by
the defense concludes: claims of the patient's death are
greatly exaggerated and even if true, death would, within
reasonable medical probability, have occurred absent the
referenced motor vehicle collision, as a result of spontaneous
combustion, due to the patient's pre-existing incendiary proclivity.

A bit of an exaggeration to be sure, but done to make a point. Currently, using our proprietary software and extensive online search capabilities, we can provide ANNOTATED bibliographies specific to your interest. Such searches help you discover the current consensus and conclusions of experts in the field, on such topics as: the natural history of a given disorder; the merits of various diagnostic tests; the outcomes of controlled therapeutic trials and the known risks from particular environmental exposures etc. The answers to such questions are to be found in evidence-based studies and unique case reports in the medical literature. In retrieving such studies, MLI differs from other services with which you may be familiar.

Unlike other services conducted by individuals with little or no scientific experience, MLI reviews and can evaluate the relative specificity, sensitivity and power of the multiple references returned by bibliographic searches. Some services provide prepackaged bibliographies relevant for generic topics, not tailored to your particular concerns. For still others, bibliographic searches are a sideline of professional witnesses and case reviewers. At MLI, bibliographic searches are Our Business! Our unique approach not only helps you find those citations most relevant to your needs, but can also help to insure that potentially crucial arguments made by others, have not been overlooked by your expert witnesses.

Our Satisfaction Guarantee:

MLI searches are designed to retrieve the most relevant medical literature citations for your needs. A deliberate attempt is made to exclude references that are only tangentially related to your interests. However, since no search algorithm is infallible, MLI does not claim nor warrant that all significant citations are included in its searches. If you are dissatisfied with the results of such an effort, MLI will refund any fees paid for that service. We only ask that you let us know, in writing, how you think that service might have been improved. Your comments will assist us in our goal, to provide you, our clients, with the most suitable, cost-effective service possible.
